Anguilla anguilla🐉 The European eel is an endangered species. Eels reproduce only once in their lifetime, and to do so they migrate several thousand kilometers from inland or coastal waters, where they spend most of their lives, to the Sargasso Sea on the other side of the Atlantic. During this entire migration, an eel takes no food and its digestive system regresses. It becomes a silvery silver eel. After reproduction, the parents die and the eel larvae drift back to Europe with the Gulf Strea
