This hand-forged axe head came into my gallery and I find it incredibly interesting. It was clearly hand-made by a blacksmith as evidenced by the facets on the blade and the overall consistency of the metal. The thing that’s hard to pin down is the age. It was never used for it’s intended purpose because the edge is fully intact. With that in mind, it could be 20, 50, even 100 years old - I just don’t know.
