Recognise this icon? It’s a lighthouse optic from Inchkeith lighthouse. Before gracing the Grand Gallery, this revolving lens guided ships safely through the Firth of Forth from 1889. It did this for nearly a century! 🚢 The optic was designed by David A Stevenson, lighthouse extraordinaire AND father of writer Robert Louis Stevenson. Long before Stevenson was a household name for literature, the family were known for lighthouses. Many of which you can see today around Scotland’s coasts. We love
