Ground-breaking in size and strategic importance, South Hook LNG Terminal is a significant link in the world’s first fully integrated Supply Chain that stretches from the gas fields of Qatar, to the deep waters of west Wales.

The Incremental Capacity Project underway at South Hook LNG, remains on schedule, with capacity at the Terminal due to be available before the end of 2025. Companies interested in performing work at South Hook LNG Terminal as part of this project, should follow the Procurement application process.

Terminal Capacity. South Hook Gas Company Ltd, a UK Joint Venture of Qatar Petroleum (70%) and ExxonMobil Qatargas (ll) Trading Company Limited (30%), purchased 100% of primary capacity at South Hook LNG Terminal under a Terminal Capacity Agreement.

At South Hook LNG Terminal, the kilometre-long jetty is capable of accommodating Q-Max and Q-Flex vessels, which are 80% larger than conventional LNG carriers. Once the LNG vessel has berthed at the jetty, assisted by a dedicated tug fleet, the loading arms are attached to a manifold on the vessel and the cargo is then pumped ashore.
