Dec 23, 2014 · Been thinking about chopping the top on my 02 liberty sport while keeping it street legal.. Any thoughts? Personally would rethink that idea. There isn't a frame like a TJ/ JK etc, the whole body shell is welded together to be one unit. Start cutting tops off etc unless you weld in a complete frame work, you may have some serious issues.

May 14, 2018 · Chop top XJ with a soft top. I have a 2 door XJ that I plan on chopping the top off of behind the doors and caging. My intention is for the cage to follow what was the original roof line all the way back and kind of keep the stock look/dimensions. I have found tons of info and pics on the metal work (cutting the top, cage ideas, etc).

Apr 1, 2013 · The way I was planning to do it to avoid this was to cut a rectangle out of the top leaving a 4 inch boarder connected all the way around. I was going to use the boarder as a means to "re-clamp" the top (with a rubber boarder to seal)

Aug 9, 2007 · I am going to weld the bottom plate all the way to the tailgate and bolt the tailgate to the rest of the Jeep with a seal. Added a few braces out of angle iron and welded them to the top cover. The seats wit quite nicely without the headrests and even latch.
