With nearly all of UTEP’s 97 buildings characterized by classic Bhutanese design, UTEP’s unique architecture offers visitors a glimpse of the beauty and serenity of Bhutan itself on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Interdisciplinary Research Building. The Interdisciplinary Research Building is poised to provide space for future research growth at UTEP. The 150,000-square-foot facility is tailored to allow students and faculty members from a variety of disciplines to share workspaces and laboratories.

Bhutanese architecture itself embodies rich meaning and story underneath it. Each piece of Bhutanese architecture has a deeper story behind it, as there is a connection between architecture and Buddhist values.

2023年4月17日 · One of the most tangible and visible aspects of Bhutanese culture is the country's architecture. Bhutan's linguistic diversity is reflected in the various local dialects spoken in different regions, including Tshanglakha, Lhotshamkha, Brokpakha, Lakha, Chocha Ngacha, Bumthangkha, and Ngenkha.

Bhutanese artisans created it for the 2008 Smithsonian Institution Folklife Festival on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The building’s exterior showcases Bhutanese artistry. The interior is lined with intricate murals and figures that help tell the story of the history of Bhutan.

The Senior Ring was unveiled in 2003 and features symbols unique to the University: Bhutanese architecture, the “M” on the Mountain and Paydirt Pete. Eligible students and alumni receive them at the Official Ring Ceremony during commencement-week festivities.
