Riot now has a Riot ID system, which will be used for all of Riot‘s games in the future, including Valorant, Legends of Runeterra, Project L and F etc., it is being used for all of them except League already right now, the summoner name will too change to Riot ID sometime in 2021.

I want to change my riot username but I can't find any way to do so. I don't want to change my riot ID (the name people see), but the name of the account I use to log in to valorant.

2020年4月23日 · I don't want to use my OTP username for Valorant, so I tried to change it. Problem is, EVERYTHING I type says "that riot id is unavailable". I am HIGHLY skeptical that this is the case, as even when I type 17 characters of jumbled garbage random letters to test if ANYTHING is available, I still get the same message!

Following this main change, riot has announced the following adjustments: Name changes cannot be purchased with blue essence anymore.

2023年10月25日 · As someone who has used the exact same name in shooters for about 20 years, I do not understand why people change their names this often. I'm actually kind of looking forward to fewer name changes, maybe lobbies won't be filled with "i miss her" cringe crap.
