McKenna "Mak" Whitham, 13, has signed a professional contract with NJ/NY Gotham FC, the reigning NWSL champions, making her the youngest signing in the league's history.
Gotham FC's Mak Whitham signed a deal to play in the professional women's soccer league last year, just a few weeks shy of her 14th birthday.
Whitham, who turns 14 on Saturday, will be the youngest player in a top-level men's or women's soccer game when she makes her debut — potentially as soon as Sunday.
