According to an online report by 9to5Google, Zoom has discontinued the support for its original Chrome OS app. This means that the ChromeOS users can no longer join meetings using the app.

“This app will no longer be officially supported after August 2022. Please use the new Zoom for Chrome PWA to join meetings on ChromeOS.” the notice states.

Google wants to throw yet another app type into the mix, though. With the shutdown of Chrome Apps, Google is working to bring Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) to the desktop.
