On this day 20 years ago, Brian Lara regained the individual Test score world record on his way to an unbeaten 400 against England in the fourth Test in Antigua.

Brian Lara holds the world records for the highest individual score in Test (400) and first-class cricket (501*).

Lara’s previous record of highest Test score was broken only six months before that match by Australia’s Matthew Hayden who scored 380 against Zimbabwe in Perth.
