Microsoft’s latest Windows update comes with an unexpected surprise: accidentally uninstalling the Copilot app from some devices. As users scramble to reinstall, Microsoft scrambles for a fix. Here’s what happened and how to restore Copilot on Windows 11.

On Monday, Microsoft said it was aware of a bug that uninstalled Copilot and unpinned it from the taskbar following its March 11th update. While it worked on a fix, Microsoft suggested reinstalling Copilot from the Microsoft Store and manually pinning it to the taskbar.

To put Copilot back on the Taskbar, click the Start button and look for Copilot in the Start menu or All screen. Right-click its shortcut, move to the More menu, and click Pin to Taskbar. You can then launch and use Copilot as you normally would.
