The notion that Molnar might produce a flying car isn't absurd. Over the past three decades, he’s built products ranging from new types of DJ turntables to rockets and rocket-powered cars.

Flying cars, known as spinners, featured in 1982 sci-fi classic Blade Runner and an air-borne DeLorean time machine starred in Back to the Future, which was made in 1985 but set in 2015.
