Alphabet Inc. is in talks to purchase cloud-security company Wiz Inc. for $33 billion, restarting discussions that were called off last summer after extended negotiations, according to people familiar with the matter.

Google owner Alphabet will buy cybersecurity firm Wiz for $32 billion — in a deal set to boost the tech giant’s in-house cloud computing amid burgeoning artificial intelligence growth.

Wiz was founded only five years ago but offers an increasingly important cloud-security service as cyber risks grow.
