I believe they also have an office in the Netherlands and they may provide you with the necessary information. Or contact the Virunga organisation directly. These 2 companies will not sell a permit to climb the volcano, if the situation has become too dangerous. Good luck. Cheers, Peter
Hi, I am looking to do this hike in early July. How much should I pay and how do I book this hike? Do I need to book in advance? I have emailed one tour company and they quoted $1500 which is very overpriced in my opinion as most blogs and my travel guide suggests $300-500 USD for a package including visas. I would imagine you could with extra money but the highlight is in the evening when it lights up and gives it a better look.

It is not possible. You need two days. The real experience of the volcano comes during the night you spend on the rim. You dont see much during the day.
